September 23

Joseph Herrin (09-23-2017)

Today is the Revelation 12 Sign. Let me give you a few dates that make this interesting.

1897 - First Zionist Congress served with Theodore Herzl. 120 years ago.
1917 - The Balfour Declaration submitted with Britain agreeing to a Jewish State. 100 years ago.
1947 - Israel is proclaimed a nation by the United Nations General Assembly. 70 years ago.
1967 - Six Days War in Israel. Jerusalem made a part of Israel. 50 years ago.
1977 - Anwar Sadat, Egyptian President visits Jerusalem in peace. 40 years ago.

The sign in the heavens is a verifiable sign. There is no point in saying, “It did not happen.” Anyone with a pair of eyes and a clear sky to see the heavens can make this one out. Could it be a point marking the end of the Gentile Gospel and the beginning of the Hebrew or Jewish times foretold in Scripture?

Romans 11:25-26
For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved....

In truth, I don’t see how it could be the end of the Gentile church age and the beginning of the Jewish. Nothing that I know of has taken place to indicate that such a change is in the works - yet. That doesn’t mean something could not happen by the end of the year. The year does seem like one to take note of. With all of the anniversaries for the dates in the State of Israel it does seem like something is bound to take place. I suspect that all eyes should be on Israel.

Let me detail the heavenly sign for September 23rd. It comes from Revelation 12.

Revelation 12:1-6, 10-17
Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth. And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne. Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days... Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time. Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child. But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Yahshua Christ.

Technically, there is nothing to make a person think of Israel as the woman in the passage above. The woman strikes me as the church, though I am not so hard and fast with my interpretive rules as I once was. It is possible that the sign of September 23rd and the dates relating to Israel are not conjoined. At least they are not joined in an obvious way. Perhaps we should view them separately, or the sign in the heavens is not the sign of Revelations at all. I have in the past seen the sign in the heavens as a larger sign, a sign including a dragon who attempts to consume the child, the man-child. There is no dragon ready to scoop up the man-child when he is born. There are a few serpents that are fairly close, but none that I would consider the one. It seems that something further must happen to complete the sign.

With that said, I have never gotten to the point where I was really good at interpreting the more obscure or unusual signs in the heavens. Give me a clear sign such as a total solar eclipse and it is more of a simple matter. We can agree that everything about us was created, and it was Yahweh who created all things. His Son is called “the Word.” He looks for things to speak through. The stars are not left out.

Psalms 19:1-4
The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.
Day unto day utters speech,
And night unto night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech nor language
Where their voice is not heard.
Their line has gone out through all the earth,
And their words to the end of the world.

This day many preachers are proclaiming that Yahweh is speaking profound things. They say it with absolute surety, but I cannot. I am not sure what the Lord is saying. I do know that He is speaking and that there is much to the anniversaries of this year. I will keep my ear tuned to Yahweh. In due time all His words will be known.

I share these things that you might keep your ear tuned also. Seek Him and He may show you mysteries while the rest of the world is scratching their heads in wonder.

Brother Herrin,
I wonder if an accurate meaning in the precise wording of the scriptures could be misunderstood due to the various wordings of the many translations. Two things that are different cannot be the same. If "a woman clothed with the sun" could be construed to mean that the sun would be WITHIN the outline of her constellation body, then this event does not appear to fulfill the wording of this particular scripture. The sun is simply not 'clothing her' this year. The sun in this year's instance appears to the side of the outline, not within. I wonder if the historical dates that you mentioned in the article actually showed the sun to be fully within the outline of 'her body'.

Brother Skip,

I think one thing we have got messed up in this day is the drawing of the person or thing in the constellation. For many of them they are not the same item. An example is the big bear and little bear. You have to go back to much older constellations to learn what they actually were. For Virgo, the Virgin, you are likely using a modern depiction of her in the heavens.

Constellations are not like dot-to-dots. The stars don't form the constellations, they are just parts of the constellation. You could likely find an older one in which it would appear that the sun is clothing her.
