A Fruitful Time

Joseph Herrin (07-03-2010)

Fruit Growing at Lemon Cove Campground

The Father continues to open doors and guide me along the path appointed. I have many stories to tell of His intervention along the way. Parables are being witnessed in a myriad of events and details, and the hand of Yahweh has been with us supporting us on this journey.

Randy and I have now traveled over five thousand miles since leaving Georgia over two months ago. Including the first meeting in Helen, Georgia, which was a precursor to this trip, we have held meetings at eight locations across America. In order they have been as follows:

Helen, Georgia
Fayetteville, Tennessee
Columbia, Missouri
Spring, Texas (Suburb of Houston)
Hemphill, Texas
Fort Worth, Texas
Mesa, Arizona
Apple Valley, California

I am currently taking two weeks off from speaking so that I can catch up on e-mail, editing and posting audio files from the meetings, and writing blogs. The Father has opened up the door for the next series of meetings which will be held in the Sacramento area. The meetings will be hosted by Rich, Kelly and their daughter Brittni in their home in Newcastle, California.

Regarding this meeting, I believe it will be a very fruitful time. The Father has been speaking to me through parables in the names of the meetings held across the country. The most recent meetings were held in Apple Valley, and they were indeed FRUITful.

On my last day at the Bean home (Beans are fruit of the earth also) I was seeking to find a campground near Sequoia National Park, discerning it to be the Father’s will for me to visit there. I do not enjoy itinerary planning, preferring to just get in my van and go. I had just shared this with Grace, the 13 year old daughter of Jim and Andrea Bean, when a sister in Christ called the host family’s home. This sister, Anna Chin, has corresponded with me on occasion for a few years, and seeing that I was in California she desired to speak to me.

At the end of our conversation Anna said she wanted to offer to do any research, or information gathering, for me that I might have need of relating to my travels across the country. She said she used to work in reservations, and she earnestly desired to assist me if she might do so. I told her I had just confessed to Grace that this was an aspect of traveling I did not enjoy, and I asked her if she might find a suitable campground near Sequoia for Randy and I to stay at for a week.

A short time later Anna called back and told me about a campground in a small town named Lemon Cove. It is in the midst of the great fruit and nut growing regions of California. This is where I presently am. As soon as I heard the name, I knew it to be the Father’s leading. He has me on a fruitful path, and I was going from Apple Valley to Lemon Cove. The second day here I received an invitation to hold meetings near Sacramento. The host couple live on FRUITvale Road. I have an expectation of it also being a fruitful time. So all who are able to attend, I encourage you to make plans to do so.

During our trip across the country, Randy and I stopped to visit with Alan and Yalana Rhea. I met this couple last year while speaking at a meeting in Tucson, Arizona. What a refreshing visit I had with them as we stopped and spent the day with them. They are truly pioneers, following the Spirit of Christ, and finding that He is leading them to an ever increasing separation from the world that they might travel as aliens and strangers in this land.

We had some wonderful fellowship, and afterwards Yalana forwarded me a letter that Alan had written to a sister in Christ. The message is profound, and reflects that which the Spirit of Christ is testifying in this hour. Those attending the meetings I have spoken at have heard very similar things. Following is the letter written by Alan Rhea.

The Believer’s Rest

To be led of the Spirit is to discern between your own individual soul’s voice and the Holy Spirit resident within. Resting in Him, the Lord of the Sabbath, who said take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am meek and you will find rest for your souls.

Please study and contemplate Hebrews chapter 4.

The Believer's Rest
1 Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it. 2 For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also ; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard.3 For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said, "AS I SWORE IN MY WRATH, THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST," although His works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4 For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh day: "AND GOD RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS WORKS "; 5 and again in this passage, "THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST." 6 Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience, 7 He again fixes a certain day, "Today," saying through David after so long a time just as has been said before, "TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS." 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that. 9 So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. 10 For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His. 11 Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience. 12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.

Do you not find this interesting that this passage about the word of God described as a two-edged sword is placed here after the subject entering, or not entering the rest of YHWH? The piercing and dividing that this sword performs is between the soul and the spirit of man and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. For the human heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, who can know it? The living and active Word of God as a sword is a reference to Yahshua described by John as having a sharp two-edged sword coming out of His mouth (Revelation 1:16). He is supposed to be dwelling within, living inside the regenerated believer, and the believer is supposed to be abiding in His presence not doing the works that come from the motivations of their own human soul nature.

The believer who has understood this principle, and is walking it out, in reality has been on a pilgrimage, on the long, hard journey of giving up the right to be god over their self. By the act of becoming a living sacrifice their flesh nature is being burnt upon the altar in the fires of their own free will choice. Each time the believer reaches the cross roads of “my will---and Thy will” a choice must be made. The sons of Aaron were the type and shadow of our great high priest in heaven of whom the Father said “You are my Son, today I have begotten You,” and also “You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek” “who in the days of His flesh offered up prayers and supplications with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of his Godly fear though He was a Son, yet he learned obedience by the things which He suffered.”

Yahshua, being without sin, did nothing of His own initiative. He only did the will of the Father. This is a mirroring to us of the process involved in surrendering our “I will” nature that we have all inherited from our forefather, the first Adam, to the “Thy will be done” nature that is offered by the last Adam, Yahshua Messiah. He offers us Himself as the Living Word of YHWH who is powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even the division of soul and spirit, discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

He gives us His Holy Spirit, providing this ability to abide within. It is freely given to the one who will accept Yahshua and suffer through the process of picking up their own disciple’s cross and following Him, dying to self as a living sacrifice, surrendering their own self-willed nature for His “Father Thy will be done” nature. Being and not doing, abiding and not performing, bearing fruit unconsciously through abiding and not doing fruit forcing with motivations of performance and acts that come from one’s own self initiative.

There is an interesting type and shadow in how the sons of Aaron were to sacrifice the burnt offering in Leviticus chapter 1. When the person brought the offering it was to be brought of their own free will to the door of the tabernacle of meeting before the presence of YHWH. Yahshua is “the door.” No man comes to the Father but through Him. He is the Way the Truth and the Life.

There are some commonalities and also some differences with the various types of animals that were offered whether it was a bull, sheep, goat, turtle dove or young pigeon. These different animals represented different classes of people, the wealthy and the poor. The heads of the animals were cut off and laid on the altar in an order with the other parts of the flesh. This signifies that no matter what your social status may be, those who accept and truly go through Yahshua “The door” to have relationship with The Father must freely choose to give up the right to themselves. They must lay their own head on the altar, rejecting self-rule of their lives. These refuse to be god over self, as all those ruled by the Adamic nature do by constantly choosing between the judgments of good and evil inherent in the Adamic nature.

The body of Messiah is to have Yahshua in the position of headship as the Living Word of YHWH. The sharp sword that comes out of His mouth will discern the thoughts and intents of our heart by abiding in Him, in the mystery of the two becoming one. The Apostle Paul gave this mystery as an example of the love between a husband and a wife in Eph 5: 22-33 but he was really speaking of Yahshua Messiah’s love for His church as the head of His body of believers.

For the husband is the head of the wife as Messiah is the head of the church; (those called out of the world) and he is head and Savior of the body. Therefore just as the church is subject to Messiah so let the wives be subject to their own husbands in everything. Husbands love your wives, just as Messiah loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of the water by the word, that he might present her to Himself a glorious church not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his own wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes it and cherishes it, just as the lord does the church, for we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to His wife, and the two shall become one flesh” This is a great mystery, but I speak of Messiah and the church.

I believe the key to the mystery is abiding.

NOT DOING - the works that come from the motivations that the soul initiates.

BEING - ABIDING

As you travel the streets and highways of your walk of faith may you discern each time you come to the cross streets of “My will be done” and “Thy will be done.” May you allow the sharp sword of the Master to discern the thoughts and intentions that initiate and motivate from the soul nature of Adamic man that we all have. May you choose to abide in the mystery of the two becoming one flesh as a member of the body of Messiah Yahshua, with the absolute knowing that your inheritance is only “in Him” and not in anything else, only the living organism of the body of Messiah.

that shows a mature understanding of the scriptures quoted. good job al. may we all also come to a full understanding of our spiritual authority as children of God. Christ did what He did as a man, with the spirit of God in Him. The same spirit we as born again belivers have in us. He said the things I do, you will do also, and greater.May we all come to this understanding so that Christ can use our bodies to " do the works" that He did, so we can then glorify our Father, as He did.WE ARE NOT TO HIDE FROM THE WORLD, just not be a part of it. He sent us out into it to be a light, so that the works He does through us can leed others to Him
